What is cGP and why do we need it?

cGP stands for cyclic Glycine-Proline, a naturally occurring molecule in the human body that supports the healthy balance of a life-critical hormone called IGF-1 (Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1). IGF-1 is required for a variety of functions including growth and development, energy metabolism, natural repair processes and the maintenance of the body's vasculature network and healthy blood circulation. Too much or too little IGF-1 can be problematic to health, which is why the supportive balancing effect of cGP is so vital.

Healthy blood circulation is critical for maintaining organ health and function. Blood vessels, down to the tiniest capillaries in size, are responsible for transporting essential nutrients and oxygens into cells, while at the same time removing waste materials and toxic debris that would otherwise impair cellular function. cGP plays a critical role in small blood vessel formation via its normalising effect on IGF-1 which helps to support organ and tissue function as we age.

However, whilst our innate production of cGP is optimal in our youth, the quantity and efficiency of our natural production diminishes with increasing speed as we age. From around the age of 45, the body's production of IGF-1 declines and correspondingly our need for cGP increases significantly to support the healthy maintenance of tissue and organ function.
