Bayberry root bark has traditionally been used for its antibiotic, fever-reducing and , in high doses, vomit inducing effects. Bayberry's anti-biotic properties are the result of the presence of myricitrin, a flavonoid glycoside that acts as a toxic agent against bacteria. Myricitrin has also been shown to stimulate bile secretion.
The combination of its effect enables bayberry to strengthen local resistance to infection and effectively tighten and dry mucous membranes making bayberry a natural support for colds and coughs, excess mucus, fevers and influenza.
Support the body's defence systems.
Considered effective support for diarrhoea, bloody stools, and excessive menstrual bleeding.
Helps to dry up and protect exposed membranes
